Altri’s sales grows by 11% in third quarter of 2017

At the end of the third quarter of 2017, the company recorded results of 165.5 million Euros, 11% higher than the same period in 2016. The net operating income for these three months stood at 26.4 million Euros, which was 57.1% up on last year.

Total revenues recorded by Altri in the third quarter of 2017 reached 165.5 million Euros, which corresponds to an 11% rise on the same period of 2016. In the period under analysis, around 270 thousand tonnes of pulp were produced, whilst a year ago this figure was 268 thousand tonnes, 28.2 thousand of which were dissolving pulp (26.9 thousand tonnes in the same quarter of 2016).

255 thousand tonnes of pulp, of which around 27 thousand were dissolving pulp. The difference between tonnage produced and tonnage sold was down to the need to create stocks to compensate for the lower production estimated for the fourth quarter of 2017, taking into account Celbi’s scheduled annual stoppage for maintenance purposes.

Around 90% of Altri’s total pulp sales in this third quarter, which corresponds to 228.6 thousand tonnes of pulp, translated into revenue of 126 million Euros. Total pulp sales came to 139.7 million Euros, which was a 1.6% decrease on the figure for May to June 2017, resulting from the reduction to the quantity sold, and represented an increase of 13% on the same period of 2016.

Operating costs rose by around 2.3% on the same period last year, exceeding the percentage change of tonnes of pulp sold (-1.3%), which is explained by the usual inefficiencies which occur during periods of investment which are underway at Celbi and Celtejo. The latter also had a scheduled stoppage lasting three days. In the third quarter of 2017, total costs, excluding repayments, financial costs and tax, amounted to around 111.8 million Euros, which  corresponds to 5.3% less than the second quarter of 2017.

First nine months of 2017

In accrued terms, total revenue reached around 491 million Euros, 8.2% higher than in the first nine months of 2016. The EBITDA was 141.2 million Euros, which is up 10% on the same period of the previous year.

The consolidated net result achieved by Altri in these nine months totals 67,985 million Euros, which means a 19.2% leap when compared with the 57,043 million Euros recorded in the same period in 2016.
